A Mailbox in Chicago

diary1 min read

Sunday flew by: groceries, the weekly report, and half a day trying to rent a mailbox in Chicago. Two sites charged me; neither gave me a box.

Sunday flew by. As always, I got nothing done. Woke up, ordered groceries, and while I waited for the delivery I took a shower and shaved. The courier arrived, I sorted out the groceries, stuffed everything into the fridge and onto the shelves, had something to eat. Filled out the weekly report.

Then I spent half the day trying to rent a mailbox in Chicago. Two sites charged me $9.99 and $25.00. I never did get a box set up. Well, sure - why bother building and fixing a service so it actually works when the payment system already runs perfectly. I emailed support at both sites asking for refunds. I need the mailbox because I broke the axle stop device my friend gave me (a metal stop that keeps the trailer tandems from sliding farther than they should) - a really useful thing for work, and I'd gotten used to it. Now I need to order a new one, and there's nowhere to ship it - I'm homeless, I live in my truck. Plus there's mail to forward from Sioux Falls, where I never manage to swing by.

I have to be up at 4:30 tomorrow morning, so no long entry today, though I'd like to write about how I started using the Hermes agent on my MacBook.
